HIS WORKING METHOD

Making a work more accessible without taking away its voice.

Adapting is not about removing notes until a piece becomes easy. It is about understanding what gives it its identity and carefully deciding what the person learning it needs.Adapting is not removing notes: it is preserving the work’s identity and making the path easier for the learner.

JOURNEY

A journey devoted to playing, creating and sharing music.

The piano has been part of David de Miguel’s life since he was six. That early calling led him to rigorous training and, in 2013, to graduate as a performer—with the highest marks—from the Higher Conservatory of Music of Castilla y León. Since then, his work has brought together four mutually enriching facets: performance, composition, teaching and music publishing. The piano has been part of David de Miguel’s life since he was six. PERFORM AND COMPOSE

Understand, interpret and create.

David sees the piano as a way to explore and communicate musical ideas. Understanding how a work is built, how its language breathes and what character it conveys guides both his performance and his own music. This perspective gave rise to Serendipity, his solo piano album, released in 2018.David sees the piano as a way to explore and communicate musical ideas. TEACH

See through the learner’s eyes.

At his piano academy in Oviedo, he works every day with students of different levels and learning paces. This experience helps him identify what makes reading difficult, which coordination is unnecessarily complex, and which explanation or fingering can make a musical idea understandable and playable. At his piano academy in Oviedo, he works every day with students of different levels and learning paces. EDIT AND PUBLISH

Every facet in one collection.

Música para disfrutar grows out of the meeting of these experiences. In every book, David turns musical analysis and daily work with students into accessible arrangements, carefully considered fingerings, clear pages and reference recordings. The aim is to ease the path towards each work without erasing its language, character or emotion.Música para disfrutar grows out of the meeting of these experiences.
