In Le nozze di Figaro, Mozart delicately portrayed the awakening of adolescent love through Cherubino. In Enlightenment-era Vienna, working alongside Da Ponte, he created this simple yet deeply expressive romance, pausing the comedy to give voice to the confusion and tenderness of youth.
