The story behind the music.

While composing Le nozze di Figaro, Mozart faced in Vienna the challenge of turning Beaumarchais’ play into an opera. In that context, he wrote arias such as Non più andrai, full of humor and a martial character. Although the Viennese premiere was modest, the opera soon won over other audiences.
