Beethoven was still in Bonn, a young musician under Count Waldstein’s wing, serving the Elector’s court. Not yet famous beyond his hometown, he composed intimate pieces like this short Romance, reflecting his early lyrical sensitivity and the dreams he nurtured before leaving for Vienna.
