Short, carefully sequenced exercises for a few focused minutes each day, without memorising the page.
WHAT THIS VOLUME ADDS
Eighth-note triplets, syncopations created with ties and groups of four sixteenth notes · intervals up to a fifth.
The first stage introduces eighth-note triplets and keeps intervals within a third. The challenge is to distribute three attacks evenly within the pulse without disturbing continuity.
The second stage adds syncopations created with ties and expands intervals to a fourth. You must anticipate the displaced accent and sustain the pulse even when the attack does not fall in its most predictable place.
The third stage introduces groups of four sixteenth notes and expands intervals to a fifth. The greater density calls for looking ahead, subdividing precisely and maintaining a continuous gesture.
